"Feedback is the breakfast of champions."
Ken Blanchard
Someone in my community asked for feedback on her website.
I’ve looked at thousands of small business websites.
And like the vast majority.
Hers was...rough.
I made her a Loom video audit with my feedback.
But I also wanted to give her a tool she could use to implement my feedback.
So I showed her how to use AI to get the same feedback a conversion expert would charge $500 for.
Three simple prompts. Five minutes total.
Result?
Clear, actionable feedback on her homepage.
New headlines that actually call out her ideal client.
A complete page structure that converts visitors into leads.
How I did it
Started with this basic prompt:
Prompt 1:
"You are a conversion rate optimization expert and a top direct response copywriter. I need you to look at my website and give me 3 immediate practical things I could do to improve conversions, and give me 3 attention grabbing headlines/subheadlines/CTAs I could put above the fold. Here's my website - [URL]"
ChatGPT gave solid feedback but generic headlines.
So I got more specific:
Prompt 2:
"I want headlines/subheadlines/CTAs that clarify/call out what we do as a trauma informed PR agency, who we're for and how we help them in a quick attention-grabbing way."
(Obviously, you’d change the “trauma informed PR agency” to a short description of your business.)
The results were much better. Option 3 it gave looked good.
So I showed how to go further and get a full website update.
Prompt 3:
"I like #3. Help me build out a simple structure for the rest of my homepage that helps my ideal client understand exactly what we can do for them and how we help."
Boom.
Full page structure with section headings and copy direction.
Ready to keep going to get high(er) converting copy.
My Take
Most people guess what's wrong with their websites, and change nothing.
This took a few minutes and some simple prompts.
The first one isn’t even that great. A better prompt would have given more context on the business, the ideal client, etc.
But even with a simple prompt, and some good follow-up AI can give you insights, guidance, and copy that’s better than what most people would come up with.
