It’s a detailed document that tells any AI tool exactly who he is, what he does, and how he likes to work.
Then he uploads it every time he uses a new AI tool or starts a fresh project.
No more explaining his business from scratch.
No more generic, robot-sounding responses.
No more wasted time setting context.
Result?
AI that actually knows him and writes like him.
Responses that fit his style and business needs.
The ability to jump between tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) without losing momentum.
How To Do It
Dan uses AI to build the master prompt itself:
1️⃣ Ask AI to Interview You
Start with: "I'm [your role] at [type of company]. Create a master prompt for my role. Ask me all the questions you need to give me the most context possible."
2️⃣ Answer Everything
Spend 20-45 minutes answering questions about:
• Your business/role
• Your communication style
• Your goals and challenges
• Your team and processes
• Your preferences and constraints
3️⃣ Generate and Save
Say "generate the master prompt" and save it as a PDF.
4️⃣ Upload Everywhere
Use that PDF in any AI tool or new ChatGPT project for instant context.
My Take
People get frustrated with AI because it doesn't "get" them.
But we never actually introduce ourselves.
It's like walking into a meeting with strangers and expecting them to know your communication style, your business goals, and how you like things done.
I use ChatGPT all the time. That's my core AI tool.
It knows me fairly well at this point.
But sometimes I want to use other tools. I want to do something in Perplexity or Claude or Gemini.
Or even within ChatGPT, maybe I start a new project and I want to make sure it really understands me.
My master prompt saves so much time and gives AI the immediate, most important context about me to get better outputs.
It’s thirty minutes of work that can save hours every week.
